STEVE & KATE'S CHICAGO - ANDERSONVILLE KIDS CAMP · DATES: Jun 24 - Aug 23, 2019 ·
ADDRESS: Peirce School of Int'l Studies, 1423 W. Bryn Mawr Ave, Chicago, IL

Camp is now over, but you can reference Summer 2019 info below. We'll be back in November with Summer 2020 updates.

Andersonville Summer Camp

My first job out of high school was with Steve & Kate's Camp. I would wake up at 5:30 am and jump out of bed - I couldn't wait to get to work! Nothing matched the wonder and satisfaction I got from guiding a young camper through the basics of a project only to watch them surpass my knowledge by the end of summer. The freedom I learned to give young humans at camp revolutionized the way I came to think of all my relationships: the most powerful path toward human growth is the one that gives us the freedom to learn for ourselves what we have to offer. I'm living my dream and I can't wait to see your kiddo live theirs!

UNIQUE THINGS ABOUT THIS LOCATION

  • Our entrance is on Gregory St on the south side of the property near the playground. Gregory is a one way street east. See Map below for details and suggested route.
  • Parking is available on all surrounding streets as well as in the alley between Bryn Mawr Ave and Gregory St.
  • At this site, bathrooms are provided for all genders.
  • We highly encourage that each camper bring a labeled, reusable water bottle daily. This will help us cut down on our use of non-recyclable plastic cups.
  • This location serves Dark Matter Coffee for parents each morning. Enjoy!
  • Peirce's main playground will be ours to use all summer. The campus's outdoor space that encompasses this playground will be closed to the public when camp is in session.
  • The slip 'n' slide will be in operation often and especially during hot days (90 degrees and higher). We recommend that families apply sunblock at home & send children with a bathing suit or change of clothes, and a towel daily if you believe your camper(s) will be tempted to get wet.
  • We are open July 5th!  We'll be offering a modified schedule with 4th of July-themed recreational offerings to celebrate the holiday and adjust to lighter than usual attendance. Some of our regular Studios may not be available. To find out more about programming, you can reach out to your Director.

REALLY IMPORTANT DAY CAMP INFORMATION

  • BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE LINK BELOW FOR THE VIRTUAL ORIENTATION. This provides information relevant to all of our summer camp locations, including information and videos about how to check-in/check-out, what to bring (and not bring), and so much more.

Activities for every interest.

Whatever your child’s passion, they can push their limits at our camp.
Stop-motion animation, fashion, coding, breadmaking, sports, music, dance, and so much more.

RECREATIONAL SUMMER CAMP FEATURES

Each day at camp, we offer at least one showstopper activity from our lineup of Recreational Features. The Director at each location will decide when and how often to schedule each of their three Recreational Features, so feel free to contact your Director or look at the Daily Features schedule below to find out what will be scheduled each day.

  • SPORTS_COMBO_SPECIALS_SUMMER

Modular Sports Combo - The fun forecast foresees a triple threat of athletic entertainment ahead, as this combo course is coming in full-speed! Wind-up and perfect that pitch during a little target practice, read the blitz and make plays from the pocket on the football field, and makes waves as the new Splash Brother - or Sister! - by working on your jumpshot. When your sports tastes span the entire menu, get a bite-sized portion across the scoreboard with this baller buffet.

  • SMART_KARTS_SPECIALS_SUMMER

Smart Karts - Get behind the wheel of one of Silicon Valley's latest and greatest inventions: the first electric smart-kart for kids. Helmets are required and will be provided if needed, but we highly encourage you to bring your own.

  • SLIP_N_SLIDE_SPECIALS_SUMMER

Inflatable Slip and Slide - Cool off in style on our giant inflatable slip and slide. Check with the Director to find out when this will be scheduled, and bring a swimsuit and towel if your child would like to participate.

DAILY SUMMER CAMP FEATURES

Throughout each week, we'll spice camp up with featured workshops, special inflatables, art projects, performances and more!

All-Summer-Long Launchpad Feature

This summer, we are tickled to partner with The Groove at our Andersonville location. Periodically throughout the summer, The Groove will deliver a carefully curated collection of audio, visual and hands on activities for our 4 and 5 year old campers for the entire week. Find out more about The Groove here and ask your director for a special Steve & Kate's family discount to have your own Groove box delivered to your home.

TESTIMONIALS

My son tried foods he never would have, played new games each day, discovered he had skills in so many different areas and made so many friends. On the last day of camp for the summer, he asked, "When can you sign me up for next summer?"

Meg S.

(S&K parent)

[My son] actually loved going everyday, and for my 11 year old son with ADHD, that truly was a blessing. He loved all of the studio options and the staff was supportive yet also with the right amount of structure.

Sara Jane A.

(S&K parent)

The memories created were priceless (and downloadable). Steve & Kate's camp gave both our kids confidence and independence.
