Staff
Tireless child advocates, who balance structure and guidance with staying out of campers’ ways. All staff members are background checked and trained in CPR & first-aid.
Every aspect of our program is designed to put kids in charge of their own learning experience. At Steve & Kate’s, campers choose from a variety of activities in real-time, as they design their day at camp. As kids try, fail, and learn on their own–they learn to trust their own judgment. These will ultimately be the kids who are prepared to tackle the challenges of an ever changing world with creativity and confidence.

In the early morning and late afternoon, campers ramp up and wind down with recreational choices. For the bulk of the day, children will choose from the activities listed below. While we can’t say exactly what the day will look like, one thing is for sure: The campers are in control.
Buy any number of Finale Day Passes to use at any point during the weeks of Aug 10, 2022 – Aug 26, 2022. If for any reason your plans change, we’ll refund your unused Passes automatically in-full at summer’s end.
Please note that we are nearing capacity for these last weeks of camp, and families will be required to have Somerville Finale Day Passes in order to attend Somerville during the weeks of Aug. 10–Aug. 26. Campers who are on a Boston or Cambridge Summer Pass plan, or those who purchased Day Passes for Cambridge, Somerville or Boston camps prior to 5/20/22, will be able to attend Somerville’s Finale week without any additional reservations or purchases.
We also offer need-based financial aid to qualifying families. Learn more or submit an application, here.

We provide daily lunch options from a rotating variety of local restaurants and caterers. We’ll also offer an array of snacks for kids to nosh on throughout the day. Check out the daily menu below.
Due to many nearby camp programs closing early August, we’re seeing an increase in planned attendance for our last weeks of camp, which run Aug 10–Aug 26.
Due to the limited space these Finale weeks, we are nearing capacity and will require Day Passes be purchased for these specific weeks in order to attend. Campers who are on a Summer Pass plan for any of our camp locations, or those who registered for Somerville, Cambridge or Boston, prior to 5/20/22, will be able to attend Somerville’s Finale weeks without any additional reservations.
Check out our virtual camp orientation before your first day of camp! This page includes important camp details such as check-in/check-out procedures, what to bring (and not bring), and anything else you need to know for your first day!
Staff and campers will complete a wellness survey and/or other screening to identify any potential health concerns upon arrival each day.
This Camp must comply with regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and be licensed by the Cambridge Board of Health.
AND DOZENS MORE!
Our directors work year-round and would love to help you learn more about our program and at the same time learn more about you and your camper. Get in touch with your local Director:
This is Tyler’s 2nd year directing with Steve & Kate’s. When not at camp you can generally find Tyler reading a graphic novel outside, while enjoying too many snacks. (Actually, can you ever have too many snacks?)
This summer Tyler is looking forward to finally teaching himself to sew!
