STEVE & KATE'S ARLINGTON · DATES: Jun 22 - Aug 21, 2020 · ADDRESS: St. Thomas More Cathedral School, 105 N. Thomas St., Arlington, VA

Arlington Summer Camp

I believe that children should have the freedom and tools to explore what they are passionate about. And if they don't know what they're passionate about yet - all the more reason for us to give them the tools and support they need to feel confident in exploring all that camp has to offer! I am so excited to work with all of the fashionistas, coders, chefs, actors, directors, and singers at Steve & Kate's Camp in Arlington this summer!

UNIQUE THINGS ABOUT THIS LOCATION

  • We offer water activities most days, so bring a swimsuit, towel and change of clothes if you want to cool off on the slip'n slide. Please put names on everything so we can help lost items reunite with their owners.
  • Kindly keep all personal electronic devices and valuables at the homestead. We don't want them to get lost or damaged. If your child absolutely must bring an electronic device to camp, be sure to check it in at HQ upon arrival where we'll keep it safe and warm. Campers are always welcome to stop by HQ and access a cell phone whenever needed- and then check that puppy back in until departure.

REALLY IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • To enable our host school to get ready for their school year, we'll be consolidating spaces in our 9th week (August 17-21) to the gym, cafeteria and outdoor blacktop. As such, we're likely to hit capacity and stop taking new registrations for that particular week at some point, depending on demand. Our website will indicate if we've hit capacity. Even if you are planning to get a Summer Pass, we encourage you to buy it sooner rather than later in order to ensure that the 9th week is included in that pass.
  • Additional state-required paperwork must be submitted for every child before their first day of day camp.
NEW CAMPER? Click here for Virginia state-required paperwork to fill out before attending your first day.
RETURNING CAMPER? Click here for Virigina state-required paperwork to fill out before your first day.
  • Due to state regulations, CAMPERS MUST BE AT LEAST 5 YEARS OLD by September 30, 2020 in order to attend our Arlington camp location.
  • BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE LINK BELOW FOR THE VIRTUAL ORIENTATION. This provides information relevant to all of our camp locations, including information and videos about how to check-in/check-out, what to bring (and not bring), and so much more.

Activities

The surest path towards thriving is if kids are driving.

At Steve & Kate’s, we’ve always believed in following kids’ compasses. Today, our philosophy of self-direction feels even more vital. Campers act on their judgments and fuel their sense of self, develop the drive to adapt, leap and lead. We invest in kids’ boundless capability and credibility. They - and our world - will be better for it.

We can’t say exactly what days at camp will look like, where they’ll go, or what campers will wind up whipping up, but one thing’s for sure: kids drive.

WEEKLY AND DAILY SPECIALS

Each day at camp, we offer at least one showstopper activity from our lineup of Specials, including our custom dual lane slip 'n slide on-site all summer. More info on this location’s weekly and daily specials in 2020 can be found below.

TESTIMONIALS

This is a wonderful, wonderful camp!  Our 7-year-old was exposed to things we hadn't done at home before such as... baking bread and sewing a vest!  The counselors are all really positive and friendly.  In addition to the camp content itself, Steve & Kate's has really great (read: extended) hours and provides all food during the day!  There is also a refund policy in case your child doesn't use all the days you purchased in advance.  I signed up my 10-year-old, too, but he ended up getting off a wait list for another camp so I got my fee refunded to me.  I feel like this is a camp designed by parents because it is so easy to work with.  I'm really hoping they continue to offer an Arlington location!!

Our five-year-old daughter has had a fantastic time at Steve and Kate's Camp - Arlington this summer. My husband and I love the flexible hours, the fact that breakfast, lunch, and snack are provided, and the myriad of activities offered. Additionally, Jules, the Director, is wonderful as are all of the counsellors. Today was my daughter's fifth day at Steve and Kate's - Arlington and in that short amount of time she has constructed a small robot, made a short stop action film, ridden go-carts, learned to crochet a bracelet, made bread, and engaged in coding activities. Recently I had a day off of work and my daughter said she still wanted to go to Steve and Kate's because she's had so much fun there. I also really enjoy being able to log into my account and see photos of what my daughter is doing at camp during the day.
