STEVE & KATE'S CHICAGO - LAKEVIEW · DATES: Jun 24 - Aug 23, 2019 ·  ADDRESS: Bell Elementary School, 3730 North Oakley Avenue, Chicago, IL

Lakeview Summer Camp

Three years ago, a friend introduced me to Steve & Kate's. I was immediately drawn to the radical freedom of choice for campers, and the flexibility for the families. I live for camp days with the smell of fresh bread in the air, giggles from friends making films together, and self-actualized heroes running about oblivious to adult judgment and expectations. I nerd out over our philosophy and can talk about it for days (literally). Summer awaits! Can you press fast-forward to June?

UNIQUE THINGS ABOUT THIS LOCATION

  • Bell's main playground will be ours to use all summer. The north side of the outdoor space that encompasses this playground will be closed to the public when camp is in session.
  • All of the space we use at Bell is on the first floor and wheelchair accessible.
  • We ask that each camper bring a labeled, reusable water bottle daily. This will help us cut down on our use of non-recyclable plastic cups.
  • The slip 'n' slide will be in operation often and especially during hot days (90 degrees and higher). We recommend that families apply sunblock at home & send children with a bathing suit or change of clothes, and a towel daily if you believe your camper(s) will be tempted to get wet.

REALLY IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Our main and only entrance is off Oakley Avenue. Please look for our curbside check in tent in front of Door 1.
  • BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE LINK BELOW FOR THE VIRTUAL ORIENTATION. This provides information relevant to all of our camp locations, including information and videos about how to check-in/check-out, what to bring (and not bring), and so much more.

Activities for every interest.

Whatever your child’s passion, they can push their limits at our camp.
Stop-motion animation, fashion, coding, breadmaking, sports, music, dance, and so much more.

RECREATIONAL SUMMER CAMP FEATURES

Each day at camp, we offer at least one showstopper activity from our lineup of Recreational Features. The Director at each location will decide when and how often to schedule each of their three Recreational Features, so feel free to contact your Director or look at the Daily Features schedule below to find out what will be scheduled each day.

  • GIANT_BLOCKS_SPECIALS_SUMMER

Giant Blue Building Blocks- Briefly putting the digital on pause, this analog mode of design harnesses the power of the original creative catalyst: imagination! Epic in size and limitless in scope, the Giant Blue Blocks bolster building up, breaking down, brainstorming and banishing boredom with an array of architecture. With connectors, angular extenders and curved cogs, these faves can elevate or complicate to fascinate any age.

  • SOCCER_STADIUM_SPECIALS_SUMMER

Stadium- Jump into a game of hockey, soccer, dodgeball, or pillow polo inside of our custom inflatable stadium designed to amplify the action!

  • SLIP_N_SLIDE_SPECIALS_SUMMER

Inflatable Slip and Slide- Cool off in style on our giant inflatable slip and slide. Check with the Director to find out when this will be scheduled, and bring a swimsuit and towel if your child would like to participate.

TESTIMONIALS

The staff was really wonderful at the Chicago-Lakeview location. They were all highly personable and warm with our children. I always appreciated hearing how much they enjoyed spending the day with our kids. They made me feel like my kids were part of a family.

I was incredibly impressed with the camp and have told many of our friends about it. The entire team at the Lakeview location was fantastic and I loved that my kids felt so welcome there. They both learned so much this summer and are already talking about how excited they are to come back to camp next summer. Thanks for making it all easy.

Thank you so much for an amazing summer. (He) is like a different kid. We've found our camp, and it was the first summer that wasn't stressful for our family. The counselors were awesome. Can't wait for next year!
