Mar Vista Spring Break Camp

2025 details TBD

LOS ANGELES, CA

Mar Vista Spring Break Camp

Here, we put kids in charge.

Preposterous? Possibly. Effective? You betcha.

When you trust kids, they trust themselves. Since 1980, we’ve put kids in charge of their own learning experience. As they try, fail, and learn on their own, they learn to trust their own judgment, and tackle the challenges of an ever changing world with creativity and confidence.

Campers choose activities minute to minute–deciding what they want to do, and for how long. Our job is to get out of their way, cheerlead creative risks, and provide just enough guidance to make sure nobody does anything totally* senseless.

*Totally senseless: By our definition, mistakes aren’t senseless. They’re how you learn.

Buy any number of days. Use them any time. Get refunds for unused days.

Buy any number of Day Passes to use any day we’re open this spring session. You don’t even need to tell us when you’re coming–just show up! And if for any reason your plans change, we’ll refund your unused Passes automatically in full at spring’s end.

Lunch, snacks, and all hours, 8am–6pm, included.

Activities for Every Interest

Campers will design their day in real-time by choosing from a variety of activities offered at once. In the early morning and late afternoon, campers ramp up and wind down with recreational choices. For the bulk of the day, children will choose from the activities listed below. While we can’t say exactly what the day will look like, one thing is for sure: The campers are in control.

Testimonials From Our Camps

The Site director and the staff were outstanding. All the staff were properly trained and honestly engaged with the kids everyday. My daughter has attended other camps and she noted that the staff here were great and involved, they also remembered her name each day. I appreciated that my kid was not just a number but a real person.
Lesley S.

Most parents agonize about what to do with the kiddos for summer. I used to, but that was before Steve & Kate's opened in our area. I never have to do that again! I know where my son will be. He will be having fun, getting dirty, eating great food, and doing different adventures. He will come home exhausted but all smiles.
Jeanne T.

(S&K parent)

"The children that attend Steve & Kate's blossom and discover a freedom of identity that, in a way, no other institution I've experienced has ever managed. Kids find their thumbprint at Steve & Kate's. My one complaint: Where were they when I was a kid?"
Andrew Stanton

Director of WALL-E, Finding Nemo, & Finding Dory

MOLLY

she/her

While this is Molly’s second year directing with us, it will be her sixth year working with Steve & Kate’s! Molly enjoys roller skating and when not at camp you can usually find her at the plant store. She also taught herself how to say ‘supercalifragilisticexpialidocious’ backwards, so be sure to ask her at camp!

This year Molly is most excited to make new friends and bake some seriously delicious bread!
