STAFF
Tireless child advocates, who balance structure and guidance with staying out of campers’ ways. All staff members are background checked and trained in CPR & first-aid.
Every aspect of our program is designed to put kids in charge of their own learning experience. At Steve & Kate’s, campers choose from a variety of activities in real-time, as they design their day at camp. As kids try, fail, and learn on their own–they learn to trust their own judgment. These will ultimately be the kids who are prepared to tackle the challenges of an ever changing world with creativity and confidence.

In the early morning and late afternoon, campers ramp up and wind down with recreational choices. For the bulk of the day, children will choose from the activities listed below. While we can’t say exactly what the day will look like, one thing is for sure: The campers are in control.
Buy any number of Finale Day Passes to use at any point during the week of Aug 8, 2022 – Aug 12, 2022. If for any reason your plans change, we’ll refund your unused Passes automatically in-full at summer’s end.
Please note that we are nearing capacity for this week of camp, and families will be required to have Palo Alto Finale Day Passes in order to attend camp the week of Aug. 8–Aug. 12. Campers who are on a Summer Pass plan or who purchased Day Passes for Palo Alto or Cupertino camps prior to 5/20/22, will be able to attend Palo Alto’s Finale week without any additional reservations or purchases.
We also offer need-based financial aid to qualifying families. Learn more or submit an application, here.

We provide daily lunch options from a rotating variety of local restaurants and caterers. We’ll also offer an array of snacks for kids to nosh on throughout the day. Check out the daily menu below.
Due to many nearby camp programs closing early August, we’re seeing an increase in planned attendance for our last week of camp, which runs Aug 8–Aug 12.
Due to the limited space this Finale week, we are nearing capacity and will require Day Passes be purchased for this specific week in order to attend. Campers who are on a Summer Pass plan or who registered for Palo Alto or Cupertino prior to 5/20/22, will be able to attend Palo Alto’s Finale week without any additional reservations.
Check out our virtual camp orientation before your first day of camp! This page includes important camp details such as check-in/check-out procedures, what to bring (and not bring), and anything else you need to know for your first day!
Staff and campers will Complete a Wellness Survey and/or other screening to identify any potential health concerns upon arrival each day.
AND DOZENS MORE!
Our directors work year-round and would love to help you learn more about our program and at the same time learn more about you and your camper. Get in touch with your local Director:
While this is Shannon’s 2nd summer directing at Steve & Kate’s Summer Camp, it’s her third year working with us! Shannon loves all kinds of art making, especially multi-media and recycled art, and can regularly be found exploring parks or trails near Capitola.
This summer Shannon is looking forward to incorporating some of her love of art into camp, and hopes to make some camp-wide projects!
