San Carlos Summer Camp

There is a special kind of magic that goes along with summer camp and it is this magic that has, for as long as I can remember, made camp my happy place. Maybe the magic comes from having the chance to explore, learn and play on your own terms. Or perhaps it's how camp inherently encourages self-expression, whether it's in a studio creating a film masterpiece or allowing others to see the silliest version of yourself. It could also be the simple combination of sunshine and freedom that has the ability to bring out the best in us. Wherever the magic comes from, it is my goal to make this S&K San Carlos community your happy place, too. Summer will be here before we know it and I can't wait to share the magic with you!

The surest path towards thriving is if kids are driving.

At Steve & Kate’s, we’ve always believed in following kids’ compasses. Today, our philosophy of self-direction feels even more vital. Campers act on their judgments and fuel their sense of self, develop the drive to adapt, leap and lead. We invest in kids’ boundless capability and credibility. They - and our world - will be better for it.

We can’t say exactly what days at camp will look like, where they’ll go, or what campers will wind up whipping up, but one thing’s for sure: kids drive.

Each day at camp, we offer at least one showstopper activity from our lineup of Specials. More info on this location’s weekly and daily specials in 2020 coming soon.

2020 menu details coming soon. In the meantime, you can read more about how food works at camp here.

Audrey really did have the most amazing time as a mentee. We weren't sure what to expect, but when I heard she was making/serving lunches, playing games, and organizing Friday activities, I was blown away with the variety of her experience. Can't wait for next summer!

The staff was so friendly and warm, reaching out to the kids and making a comfortable environment. I was actually planning to send the boy for only a week in San Mateo due to traffic, but in just that 1 week we became so attached to everyone, I just had to deal with traffic the whole summer to attend this site. Thanks for making our summer awesome! Looking forward to next year!

I loved the safety, the variety of studios & how much my daughter enjoyed them. The fact that we were able to drop in anytime was awesome.
